Beginnings: A Workshop Series

Preparing to Parent as a Queer, trans, and/or
Gender-Expansive Person

Beginnings is an 8-week workshop series tailored for queer and gender-expansive individuals in the process of becoming parents, before welcoming their child home. Through collaborative sessions, participants will explore the complex intersections of gender identity and parenthood, creating a reflective and supportive environment.

Example Discussion Topics

  • Nourishing relationships with self & others during the transition to parenthood

  • Exploring bodily changes and personal transformations

  • How to find and build an affirming & supportive parenting community

  • Interacting with cisheteronormative
    parenting structures and resources

If we don’t enroll the minimum number of participants by 1/24, the start date will be pushed to 2/21.

The Enrollment Process

  1. Register. Submit the registration through our website.

  2. Phone Screening. Our admin will reach out to schedule a phone screening between you and the facilitator to find out if this series is the right fit for you at this time.

  3. Submit Payment. You will receive a registration confirmation email containing information for submitting payment.

  4. Enrolled! You will receive a Zoom link to join the workshops after you’ve checked out.

A Note About Cost:

In an effort to recognize barriers created by systems of oppression, we invite those with less financial means to opt-in to paying our discounted Community Rate.

In support of this effort, we also invite those with more economic privilege to consider adding $5 - $25 to the base price of attendance. You can do this by purchasing one of the “+$__ Support” items.

  • Option 1: Make a One-Time Payment

    • You will be charged $400 at checkout, one time.

    Option 2: Pay in 4-installments

    • You will be charged $100 at checkout for the first payment, and will be billed for the remaining 3 payments - to be paid upon receipt.

    • You will be charged $240 at checkout, one time.

    Option 2: Pay in 4-installments

    • You will be charged $60 at checkout for the first payment, and will be billed for the remaining 3 payments - to be paid upon receipt.

Cancellations And Refunds:

Workshops and courses may be cancelled by SAYFTEE if minimum enrollment requirements are not met. In this case, full fees will be refunded or applied to future programs. Otherwise, no refunds are provided for registrants.

Grievance Policy:

Valid grievance requests must be received in writing/email (info@sayftee.com) within ten days of the workshop date, or can be provided in person directly after the workshop. Every attempt will be made to resolve a grievance with a complainant at the time of the grievance. Should this not be resolved, the complainant will be provided further grievance procedures to follow including contacting the appropriate licensing boards.
